back from West Virginia

Liz and I made it back from West Virginia. I read a lot of the way and that was perfect for me. I think that reading so much in the car helped me be a little more productive today since I got it all out of my system.

Liz and went out for coffee at 8:00pm. We were having a good time and getting work done (a rarity in itself) but then the shop closed at 9:00pm. I don't blame them. I don't think they sold more than two cups of coffee after we got there. It's weird that in Holland JP's and Lemonjellos can be so busy all the time, but Cafe Royal has so little business during the summer that they save money by closing up shop so early. Clearly the residents of West Lafayette need to get with the program and support their local coffee shops.

I emailed the mayor toady asking for a sidewalk. I gave him eight reasons for why we need one. The most important was that it is dangerous not having one. I have serious doubts of him actually reading my email though. I plan on mailing a copy if I don't get a return email sometime this week.

For a friend

Here are a bunch of pictures from the apt that you would actually be moving into. They were kind of taken in a hurry since the maintenance guys were in there working on the apt.

This is the front of your building.

This is from the front of the building look back. The building on the left is where Liz and I live. The road leading out the back of the picture curves around to the main road.

right in side the door are the mailboxes and bulletin boards

Here is the coat closet right after you enter the apt. You can see kitchen off to the left.

Brand new fridge.

The master bedroom

Here is the walk in closet for the master bedroom

Here is a view of the second bedroom from the hallway. They had the closet doors off for some reason.
The doors will eventually be here on this closet

The outside deck.

These are all views from your deck area (you can just barely see the back of walmart. There is a nature path the goes from our complex to walmart which is nice sometimes.)

This is the bathroom. This is part of what they were working on (there will be a toilet next to the sink) The shower is across from the sink.

Last day of school

Today is the last day of school for both me and Liz. I am only three hours of lecture away from not having homework for the rest of the summer. Liz has an exam and then she will be finished too. Phew... we thought the day would never come.

It's spring time

School is almost done!!! Just one more week. If anyone asked me, I could tell them the amount of class I have left in hour, minutes, or seconds. I slept walked last night which is a little usual. I went from talking a nap with Liz on the couch to somehow being asleep in the bed. The only funny part is that I left Liz sleeping on the couch, and she didn't know where I was when she woke up. In two minutes Liz and I are going to go buy a new grill using some birthday money I received from various people.

Some really good news

I turned in my masters proposal to my committee members on Friday. It means that I have two weeks during which I can work on some of the other research projects that I've been itching to get a jump on. April 28 is when I'm supposed to defend my proposal, and them I'm off to the races again getting everything in order for the fall 08 semester. I basically took Friday night and Saturday off before hitting the books again. I have a team of 390 students set for next semester, and our espresso machine still works. Liz and I also bought some tulips to make it feel like we are back in Holland. The tulips look wimpy to the Holland kind of Tulips though. Maybe Liz will post a picture later. Night,
Nathan

It's my birthday

Since none of you are here celebrate my birthday with me I ran around the apartment taking pictures so you can feel like you are all here with me.

We made a little loaf of bread for dinner

We decided to feed Penny too

Liz fell asleep because she was tired

and since she was alseep I took two pictures of her!

My stack of articles I need to read for my masters continues to grow.

Penny is in the corner plotting to attack the imaginary things that live underneath the pile of articles.

It's me the birthday boy

I didn't realize I put my coffee in the microwave for 10:45 (instead of 1:45) while taking the pictures. It made a little mess.

A pile of books on brief psychodynamic theraputic techniques

The gift liz gave me (With which I'm very happy)

I got some nice cards and money from people who love me.

The state of Indiana even remebered it was my birthday and sent me a new liscense plate for our car.

That's all. Thank you for reading.
